My wife Irene and I ran a club for many years in Taipei called The Living Room. It became a very popular place to hear new up and coming bands, and some people even said we were the first "lounge bar" because we had so many sofas to sit around on!
The Living Room actually started as a concept. From humble beginnings Irene took care of all the food and I took care of all the music. Being creative people, we felt Taipei had a desperate need for a space that provided musicians with a supportive environment to perform and build up their repertoire and audience. I had enjoyed a successful music career, and I guess this was sort of my way of giving back some of the karma.
